Delhi: A 16-year-old boy was shot outside a garment shop in Jafrabad, northeast Delhi, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred following a complaint by the boy’s elder brother, who stated that he, his brother, and a friend were attacked by several individuals after purchasing T-shirts from the shop.
Both the victims and the attackers are residents of either the Welcome area or Kabir Nagar, and they were familiar with each other. The attack took place around 9:35 pm on Thursday near Markari Chowk in Jafrabad.
The boy sustained a gunshot wound to his back and succumbed to his injuries while being treated at GTB Hospital. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Joy Tirkey reported that around 9 pm, several people approached the group on two scooters and confronted them outside the shop. When the elder brother resisted their attempt to take him, his brother, and their friend, one of the attackers opened fire, hitting the 16-year-old boy.
