Delhi: Traffic curbs in Paschim Vihar from Apr 26 to 30 for Shree Hanumant Katha event

The Delhi Traffic Police on Thursday issued a traffic advisory detailing special arrangements and diversions in Paschim Vihar, in preparation for the Shree Hanumant Katha event scheduled to take place from 26 to 30 April at the DDA Ground.

The religious discourse will be delivered by Dhirender Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, popularly known as Baba Bageshwar. A significant turnout is anticipated, prompting authorities to implement route diversions and designate parking zones to ensure smooth traffic flow.

“Traffic congestion is expected in the vicinity of the event venue during this period. Motorists are advised to avoid restricted routes and plan their journeys accordingly, especially when travelling to hospitals, railway stations, or ISBTs,” the Delhi Traffic Police stated.

Traffic regulation will affect commuters travelling from Jwala Heri Market, Janakpuri District Centre, Tikri Border, and Madhuban Chowk towards Nangloi and surrounding areas.

For those travelling from Jwala Heri Market, roads via Dr Major Ashwini Marg and Chaudhary Balbir Singh Marg towards Rohtak Road and Peeragarhi Chowk will be diverted. Similar diversions will be in effect on routes from Janakpuri District Centre via Nilothi Road, Outer Ring Road, and the Bhaira Enclave underpass.

From 26 to 30 April, specific roads near the DDA Ground will remain closed to vehicular traffic. These include Sai Baba Mandir Road (from Bhaira Enclave to Kashi Ram Cut), P.S. Paschim Vihar West Road (from National Market traffic signal to St Marks School), and the service and side roads from the petrol station to Radisson Blu (heading towards Peeragarhi on Outer Ring Road).

Dedicated access routes and parking zones—designated as P-1, P-2, and P-3—have been arranged for event attendees. These routes have been strategically planned from various entry points including Jwala Heri Market, Janakpuri District Centre, Tikri Border, and Madhuban Chowk, in an effort to reduce congestion on key arterial roads.
