Delhi’s air quality stood at 179 on Monday, as the city woke up to a minimum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees above normal, with daytime heat likely to persist.
According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
The Delhi’s average AQI stood at 179 at 8 am, the CPCB said.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature at Palam was 22.6 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road recorded 22.3 degrees Celsius.
Ridge recorded a relatively cooler 20 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar recorded 22.2 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has forecasted mainly clear skies during the day, with the maximum temperature likely to touch 36 degrees Celsius.
No rainfall was recorded in the city in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Monday.
