Delhi Police addressed the circulating misinformation regarding bomb threats in schools, emphasising the lack of truth in the claims spread through WhatsApp groups.

An official statement issued by the Delhi Police urged the public to disregard audio messages disseminating false information about the alleged bomb threats targeting schools in the Delhi-NCR region on Wednesday.

The police emphasised that the messages circulating on WhatsApp and other platforms regarding suspicious objects found in schools were baseless and urged recipients to refrain from spreading the misinformation further.

The incident saw approximately 200 schools in Delhi-NCR receiving identical threat emails, prompting extensive evacuations and searches, while parents anxiously rushed to collect their children.

However, subsequent searches yielded no evidence of explosives, leading authorities to classify the incident as a hoax. (With inputs from PTI)
