Delhi University has instructed all its colleges and departments to extend the timings of their classrooms and laboratories from 8 am to 8 pm on all working days to ensure maximum utilisation of resources.
The university uploaded a notification on its website on Thursday, which also demanded colleges and departments to submit an action taken report by May 31.
A university official stated that no such requirement existed before. The university stated that it modified the timings in line with the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) guidelines to offer students the benefits of all available resources.
The UGC issued the guideline on January 14 for central universities and other higher education institutions. (With inputs from PTI)
