Election Results 2024: Mohammad Faisal Chaudhary, a lookalike of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, was mobbed by fans for selfies at the Congress party headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Chaudhary visited the headquarters to express solidarity with the party workers and other leaders.
He is hopeful Gandhi will win with a good margin.
“He is leading and we are hopeful that he will win the election and form the government,” Chaudhary told Patriot.
The 25-year-old Congress worker from Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh said that Gandhi is someone who talks about people’s problems.
“If he is voted to power, he will definitely address issues pertaining to farmers, jobs and abolish fake schemes like Agniveer.”
Faisal calls Gandhi a people-friendly leader.
“The good quality about him is that he is very grounded and walks with everyone. He is a sensible speaker and a good leader,” said Chaudhary, who joined Congress in 2020.
When asked why he joined Congress, Chaudhary responded, “My father has also been associated with the party and I also joined it. I expect this party can bring changes on the ground.”
Chaudhary said that residents of his area began calling him a lookalike of Rahul Gandhi when he joined the Congress.
“It is an honour that I have got my leader’s name. But when I travelled with Rahul Gandhi from Delhi to Lal Chowk in Srinagar during Bharat Jodo Yatra, it brought me into limelight and I was given the name ‘Chhota Rahul’,” said Faisal who is farmer by profession.
“In fact, #RG2 was also trending on Twitter those days,” he added.
