From September 8 to 10, road travel to the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) will encounter disruptions due to the G20 summit, as outlined in a Delhi Police advisory released on Friday. For a seamless and hassle-free journey, the advisory recommends commuters to utilize the metro’s Airport Line.
However, provisions have been made for individuals who prefer traveling to the airport using their personal vehicles from various parts of the city and NCR regions, according to the police.
During the specified period, starting from 12 am on September 8 until 11.59 pm on September 10, road access to IGI Airport will be impacted.
For passengers who choose road travel over the metro, the advisory underscores the importance of planning their trips with ample time in hand.
Specific routes have been outlined for those driving from different areas:
- Gurgaon to Terminal-3 (T3): NH-48 – Rao Gajraj Singh Marg – Old Delhi Gurugram Road – UER II – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road.
- Gurgaon to Terminal-1 (T1): NH-48 – Rao Gajraj Singh Marg – Old Delhi Gurugram Road – UER II – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road – Service Road NH-48 – Sanjay T-Point – Ullan Batar Marg.
- Dwarka to T3: Dwarka Sector-22 Road – UER II – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road.
- Dwarka to T1: Dwarka Sector-22 Road – UER II – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road – Service Road NH-48 – Sanjay T-Point – Ullan Batar Marg.
- New Delhi and South Delhi to T3 and T1: AIIMS Chowk – Ring Road – Moti Bagh Chowk – RTR Marg – Sanjay T-Point – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road, and from Sanjay T-Point to Ullan Batar Marg for Terminal T1.
- West Delhi to T3 and T1: Punjabi Bagh Chowk – Ring Road – Raja Garden Chowk – Najafgarh Road – Pankha Road – Dabri-Dwarka Road – Road No. 224, Dabri-Gurugram Road – Sector-22, Dwarka Road – UER-II – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road/Ullan Batar Marg and Terminal T1.
- North and East Delhi to T3 and T1: ISBT Kashmere Gate – Rani Jhansi Flyover – Rohtak Road – Punjabi Bagh Chowk – Ring Road – Raja Garden Chowk – Najafgarh Road – Pankha Road – Dabri Dwarka Road – Road No. 224, Dabri-Gurugram Road – Sector-22, Dwarka Road – UER-II – Service Road NH-48 – T3 Terminal Road/Ullan Batar Marg and Terminal T1.
Motorists are advised to anticipate longer travel durations due to traffic regulations and are encouraged to make optimal use of metro services, particularly the Airport Express Line (Orange Line), which links New Delhi Station to Dwarka Sector 21 Station via IGI Airport T3.
