Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its much-awaited scooter, the Hero Xoom 125, priced at Rs 86,900 (ex-showroom) at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. After several delays, the company has finally revealed the pricing and details of this new entrant in the competitive 125cc scooter segment.
Sporty Design and Features
The Hero Xoom 125 stands out with its sporty design, featuring a sharp front apron with integrated LED lights, sleek side panels, and a stylish tail section. These elements are aimed at attracting younger riders. The scooter is equipped with an LED lighting system, including scroll-style turn indicators, and a fully digital instrument cluster. The console offers information on average fuel consumption, distance-to-empty, and standard indicators like speedometer and fuel gauge.
Impressive Hardware and Specifications
Underneath the modern design lies an underbone chassis with a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear for suspension. Riding on 14-inch wheels—uncommon in the 125cc segment—the scooter ensures enhanced stability and handling. It is fitted with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake for effective stopping power.
Powering the Hero Xoom 125 is a 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivering 9.8 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Paired with a CVT transmission, the scooter can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 7.6 seconds, according to Hero MotoCorp.
Price and Competition
Priced at Rs 86,900, the Hero Xoom 125 takes on rivals like the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Suzuki Avenis, both popular options in the 125cc scooter category. With its sporty looks, robust hardware, and competitive pricing, Hero aims to carve out a significant share of the market.
