In northeast Delhi’s Nand Nagri area, a 22-year-old man was stabbed by another individual due to an old enmity, according to the police.
Police said that the incident, which took place on Thursday at 10:37 pm, was captured on a video that is now circulating on social media.
They said that the footage shows the attacker assaulting the victim, who was lying on the road, before fleeing the scene.
They added that the victim, identified as Kasim, a 20-year-old resident of Sunder Nagri, was rushed to GTB Hospital after a PCR call was made by his brother.
At present, Kasim has not provided a statement to the police as he is feeling drowsy. Due to the severity of his injuries, he has been transferred to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for further treatment, said police.
The police have apprehended the accused, Sohaib, who is also a resident of Sunder Nagri. A case has been registered against him under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Initial investigations have revealed that the incident was motivated by a previous enmity between Sohaib and Kasim.
Approximately two years ago, Kasim allegedly punched Sohaib in the face during a dispute between them, causing damage to Sohaib’s eye and resulting in a nose defect that irritated him. Since then, Sohaib had harbored a grudge against Kasim. The police are currently investigating the matter further. (With inputs from PTI)
