Delhi has recorded above normal rainfall in the last four months and the cumulative precipitation this year so far has already equalled the yearly quota of 774 mm.

Delhi on Wednesday experienced a fresh bout of rain, with more rainy spells anticipated throughout the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cautionary advisory, indicating the likelihood of moderate rainfall in certain parts of the city.

The following day, Thursday, is also expected to witness light rain; however, this is not anticipated to impact the maximum temperature significantly.

According to the meteorological forecast from the MeT office, temperatures are projected to remain in the range of 35-36 degrees Celsius for the next four to five days.

Despite this, city residents might face inconvenience due to elevated humidity levels. Over the past four months, Delhi has observed rainfall above normal levels, with the cumulative precipitation for the year reaching the annual average of 774 mm.

The month of August has marked a considerable deficit in rainfall. The total amount of rain this month has been 52 percent lower than the typical levels. ( With inputs from PTI)
