Rain likely in Delhi

Delhi is under a yellow alert for isolated thunderstorms and rain on Wednesday, with moderate air quality and a maximum temperature of around 38°C

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with the weather office issuing a ‘yellow alert’ for thunderstorms with rain in isolated areas during the day.

The national capital’s base station at Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius, 0.5 degrees above normal.

Among other stations, Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 25.8 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road registered 25.8 degrees Celsius, 1.2 degrees below normal.

The minimum temperature stood at 25.2 degrees Celsius at Ridge, 0.9 below normal, and 25.2 degrees Celsius at Ayanagar, 0.9 degrees below normal.

Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘moderate’ category with the average air quality index (AQI) being clocked at 118, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.

The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 38 degrees Celsius, according to the IMD.
