A search operation is underway in the Yamuna after a man allegedly jumped into the river from the DND flyway in southeast Delhi, with his scooter and slippers found abandoned on the bridge, officials said on Monday.
Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call early Monday, informing that a man reportedly jumped into the Yamuna from the flyway.
The family members of the missing person also told police that he jumped into the Yamuna from the bridge, prompting rescue teams to launch a search operation.
Officials said the man’s scooter and slippers were found on the flyway, prompting the police to suspect that he may have jumped off the bridge.
No suicide note has been found from the spot, police said.
