A spectacular Bharatanatyam dance production called Navdurga is all set to enthrall the audience on April 2, 2023, at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House, New Delhi, starting at 6:30 p.m. Organized by the Aayam Institute of Performing Arts, the evening is dedicated to the divine energy that manifests in various forms as a guardian, a mother, and a guru.
Led by the disciples of the renowned Guru Smt Sindhu Mishra, the performance promises to be an ode to Devi, the supreme power. The dancers will showcase their expertise in the traditional Bharatanatyam dance form through Navadurga, a specially curated recital that celebrates the infinite glories of Devi.
Adding to the charm of the performance will be musical renditions of Bhakti poetry by saint poets like Goswami Tulsidas and Adi Shankaracharya. The production will commence with a devotional work on Lord Ganesh, followed by Navdurga Stotram and conclude with a traditional Bharatanatyam piece called Thillana.
The music is composed by Delhi-based Hindustani vocalist Nitin Sharma, who will add a unique interplay of Hindustani and Carnatic traditions to the performance. The young and talented dancers who will be presenting the production include Arshia Mathur, Krithika Kumar, Ria Gupta, Shruti Verma, Aishaane Bhargava, Shatakshi Gupta, Isha Aggarwal, and Khushi Yadav.
