Thunderstorm, gusty winds likely in Delhi today: IMD

Delhi is likely to witness a thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds on Saturday, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.6 degrees above the seasonal average. Relative humidity was measured at 68 per cent at 8.30 am, the IMD said.

Air quality remained in the “moderate” category on Saturday morning, with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 156 at 9 AM.

The AQI scale classifies readings from 101 to 200 as “moderate”. Levels between 0 and 50 are considered “good”, 51 to 100 “satisfactory”, 201 to 300 “poor”, 301 to 400 “very poor”, and 401 to 500 “severe”.
