Two cars catch fire after collision in Delhi, one dead

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received an emergency call at 12:20 a.m., and two fire tenders were rushed to the scene.

Delhi: A fatal accident in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka in the early hours of Wednesday claimed one life when a car caught fire following a collision with an SUV. The incident occurred on the Yashobhoomi flyover, officials said.

The accident involved a Maruti Suzuki Eeco and a Hyundai Creta, suspected to have collided head-on. While the occupants of the Creta managed to escape, the driver of the Eeco was trapped as the vehicle went up in flames. Firefighters recovered the charred body after extinguishing the fire. The victim’s identity is yet to be confirmed.

A police team also arrived at the spot and secured the area for further investigation. Crime scene investigators inspected the site, and the body was taken to a mortuary for post-mortem examination. Authorities are working to establish the deceased’s identity and determine the sequence of events leading to the accident.

This tragic incident underscores the need for greater caution on roads, particularly during late-night hours. Investigators are probing the cause of the collision, including whether any traffic violations or mechanical issues were involved.
