During the second round of admissions for the academic year 2023-24, Delhi University successfully filled more than 19,000 undergraduate seats across its various colleges.
In the initial round, over 62,000 students submitted fees to secure their spots. Many of them chose to upgrade their choices, while others confirmed their original seats.
Following the first round, the university reported that 34,174 candidates had chosen to upgrade their selections.
In this subsequent admission round, a total of 19,038 new seat allocations were made. Among these, 10,104 students received their upgraded preferences, while approximately 17,561 students opted to retain the seats initially assigned to them.
Furthermore, 32,600 candidates maintained their original seat allocations.
Out of the total 85,853 undergraduate seats initially allotted, 62,008 students, with females constituting 53 percent, completed their fee payments and secured admissions to Delhi University’s colleges.
Despite having a collective capacity of 71,000 undergraduate seats across its affiliated colleges, the university assigned a higher number of seats this year due to additional seat allocations in various categories, as explained by a university representative.
The allotment of undergraduate program seats was executed through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS)-UG-2023.
After the conclusion of the first round on August 7, the university released a list of available vacancies.
Few vacancies remained in the North Campus colleges, as indicated in the list.
The majority of the remaining vacancies were in off-campus colleges and some institutions in the South Campus offering Sanskrit and science programs like Chemistry, Physics, and Electronics.
Students were given a one-day opportunity to rearrange their higher preferences.
Candidates have until August 13 to accept their allocated seats, and colleges can verify applications until August 14.
Online payment can be completed by August 15, and classes are scheduled to commence on August 16, according to the university.
The third round of admissions is set to commence on August 17 and will conclude on August 26.
