Delhi records lowest minimum temperature for the season so far

At least 15 out of 38 monitoring stations of the Central Pollution Control Board recorded AQI in the "severe" category on Thursday, while 22 monitoring stations recorded AQI in the "very poor" category at 9am

Delhi on Thursday witnessed a dip in the minimum temperature, marking the season’s lowest at 9.2 degrees Celsius, which is two notches below the average for this time of the year, officials said.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear skies throughout the day, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 26 degrees Celsius.

The city’s air quality stood at 373 at 9:30 am.

During the morning hours, 15 out of the 38 monitoring stations operated by the Central Pollution Control Board recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) in the “severe” category, while 22 stations registered an AQI in the “very poor” category.

AQI categories are classified as follows: 0-50 (“good”), 51-100 (“satisfactory”), 101-200 (“moderate”), 201-300 (“poor”), 301-400 (“very poor”), and 401-500 (“severe”). (With inputs from PTI)
