A solo exhibition by Anjali Mittal exploring emotion, memory and intuition through layered blue-hued paintings

A solo exhibition titled Breaking Barriers, featuring paintings by Anjali Mittal, will be on view at the Convention Foyer from February 25 to 28, 2026. The exhibition brings together a body of work that explores emotion, memory and intuition, expressed predominantly through shades of blue.

For Mittal, blue functions not merely as a colour but as a visual language. Her paintings draw on its emotional range, conveying calm and depth, introspection and movement, silence and intensity. The works are inspired by elements of nature, including the sea, flowers, clouds and mountains, though they emerge from emotional response rather than direct observation.

Her practice moves fluidly between realism and abstraction. Mittal employs layered colour, expressive brushstrokes and evolving forms, allowing each canvas to develop organically. This approach lends her work a sense of spontaneity and inner rhythm, while maintaining a strong emotional core.

In this exhibition, Mittal departs from a singular thematic framework, instead allowing individual works to emerge from instinct and introspection. The exhibition reflects a process of exploration and openness, with each painting offering a distinct visual and emotional narrative.

Reflecting on the exhibition, Mittal describes Breaking Barriers as an invitation into her inner landscape, where personal experiences and emotions unfold through colour, texture and form.
