An abstract exploration of nature and emotion, Chromatic Resonance showcases Jhunu Sarkar’s expressive use of colour and form

Lalit Kala Academy will present Chromatic Resonance, a solo exhibition by artist Jhunu Sarkar, from December 27, 2025, to January 2, 2026, at its Rabindra Bhavan galleries. The exhibition brings together selected works from her acclaimed Brishti series.

The exhibition explores Sarkar’s deep engagement with nature and its ever-shifting rhythms. Rooted in abstraction, her works reflect the emotional and sensory experiences drawn from rain, light, and the quiet transformations of the natural world.

Colour and movement form the core of Sarkar’s visual language. Her canvases unfold through layered hues, fluid forms, and expressive gestures that evoke rain-soaked memories, fleeting silences, and moments of quiet intensity. The paintings balance spontaneity with contemplation, allowing emotion to emerge organically through texture and tone.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, Sarkar’s works invite viewers to respond intuitively. Each composition becomes a space for personal reflection, where feeling and memory intersect with colour and form. The exhibition presents abstraction not as distance from reality, but as a deeply felt engagement with it.
