Ishq Chaman, a unique exhibition celebrating the timeless beauty of the Kishangarh School of Art, opened today at the Main Art Gallery, Bikaner House. Presented by Art Centrix Space in collaboration with Studio Kishangarh, the exhibition revives one of India’s most refined miniature painting traditions while blending it with contemporary artistic interpretations.
Curated by Monica Jain, Founder-Director of Art Centrix Space, and Princess Vaishnavi Kumari, Founder of Studio Kishangarh, Ishq Chaman pays tribute to the artistic legacy of Kishangarh. The school of art, known for its ethereal Bani Thani portraits, delicate floral motifs, and intricate detailing, was originally popularized under the patronage of Raja Savant Singh and the master artist Nihal Chand.
The exhibition features stunning miniature paintings that reflect Kishangarh’s traditional elements, such as the use of Wasli paper, natural pigments, and fine brushwork, while also embracing modern artistic sensibilities. The show highlights how Kishangarh’s artistic heritage continues to inspire contemporary painters, preserving its rich legacy for future generations.
Beyond the gallery, Ishq Chaman offers a deeper engagement with the art form through guided tours of Kishangarh’s historic sites and an exclusive walkthrough on the opening night. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness firsthand how the timeless beauty of Kishangarh’s miniatures has been reinterpreted for the present day.

The exhibition runs until March 22, offering art enthusiasts, historians, and collectors a chance to experience this unique revival of an age-old tradition.
