Pracheen Kala Kendra is set to host a two-day Harmonium Festival on November 16 and 17 at Triveni Kala Sangam in New Delhi. The event, which starts at 6:00 PM each evening, will celebrate the artistry of harmonium players and aims to promote Indian classical music by providing a platform for talented musicians to perform alongside renowned tabla and pakhawaj artists.
“We are thrilled to present this festival dedicated to the harmonium,” said a spokesperson from Pracheen Kala Kendra. “Our goal is to bring together some of the finest harmonium maestros and give audiences a chance to experience their mastery alongside acclaimed tabla and pakhawaj artists”.
The lineup promises a rich musical experience with performances by prominent artists. On the first evening, harmonium artist Rajendra Banerjee will be accompanied by tabla player Shailendra Singh Rajput, followed by performances by Pravin Vivek Kaslikar with Rahul Swarnkar, and a harmonium duet by Sudhanshu Kulkarni and Sarang Kulkarni, accompanied by Waqar Ali on tabla and Manoj Solanke on pakhawaj.
The second day will feature harmonium artist Sudhir Nayak with tabla player Aneesh Pradhan, Ravinder Katoti with Pinaki Chakraborty on tabla, and Sharangdhar Sathe, who will be joined by Prabhakar Pandey on tabla and Manoj Solanke on pakhawaj.
Established in 1956, Pracheen Kala Kendra has been committed to nurturing Indian classical music, dance, and arts with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The Kendra has played a pivotal role in preserving India’s rich cultural heritage, encouraging young talents, and supporting established artists.
