Aayam Institute of Performing Arts will present ‘Mauli – A Timeless Tradition’, a Bharatanatyam production by renowned dancer and scholar Kalaimamani Bala Devi Chandrashekar, on December 18. The performance will take place at Triveni Kala Sangam, Tansen Marg.
Rooted in the sacred Pandharpur tradition of Maharashtra, Mauli explores the spiritual legacy of Panduranga-Vittala through scholarship-driven choreography and evocative storytelling. Drawing from bhakti poetry, ritual practices and classical aesthetics, the Bharatanatyam work reflects centuries of devotion that continue to shape faith and artistic expression.
Through refined movement vocabulary and layered narratives, Chandrashekar brings alive the emotional world of the Varkari tradition, presenting devotion not only as ritual but as lived experience. The performance seeks to connect audiences with the philosophical depth and enduring relevance of this bhakti heritage.
