To mark the 75th Anniversary of our Independence – ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – India Post has inaugurated “AMRITPEX 2023”, the country’s Largest National Philatelic Exhibition that Delhi is going to witness.
The five-day-long National Stamp Exhibition began on February 11 and will end on February 15.
Apart from everyday special release of stamps, covers and philatelic ancillaries, a unique immersive digital experience through virtual reality is in store for visitors.
Other key highlights of the event will be: star performance by Shujaat Hussain Khan and Piyush Mishr; panel discussion on youth and women empowerment; Kavi Sammelan; engaging workshops like Postcard Writing, Letter Writing, Envelope Art with Philately Stamps, calligraphy, philately, fabric painting, philatelic seminars; play on Postal Services, Cultural programmes and cultural activities
The event will also see Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, as the chief guest.
The Guests of Honour include Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan – Minister of state for communications and Meenakshi Lekhi – Minister of state for External Affairs and Culture.
“When the Internet and cell phones took over our lives, philately became limited as a charming hobby. With the goal to promote philately as a hobby and to educate the general public with a focus on children and young, about India’s culture, heritage, history and notable figures,” is the tagline of the event.
