Original Shadows: Contemporary Expressions Across Mediums of Printmaking is currently on view at Art Incept, Gurugram, offering visitors a rare opportunity to engage with the tactile and contemplative world of printmaking through a contemporary lens. The exhibition, which opened on July 17 and runs until August 30, features works by 14 emerging and mid-career artists experimenting with traditional techniques to produce bold, layered, and expressive prints.
The group show features a diverse range of methods—including etching, woodcut, lithography, serigraphy, and mezzotint—each reflecting a meticulous, hands-on process. Participating artists include Aditi Singh Shekhawat, Anupama Dey, Manish Kumar, Isha Sharma, and Tushar Sahay, among others.
“Printmaking compels both artist and viewer to slow down and engage deeply,” says Gayatri Singh, Director of Art Incept. “This exhibition pays homage to the medium’s tradition while celebrating the innovative directions it is taking today.”

Curated by artist and writer Rahul Kumar and printmaker Jasneet Singh Bindra, the show balances technical mastery with contemporary expression. Informative displays accompany the artworks, offering insights into the printmaking process and encouraging closer engagement from viewers.
