Whether it is the quietude of a quaint corner in a street, the hustle and bustle of a crowded cityscape or the internal quest for serenity, the exhibition ‘Reveries of Quaintness’ presented by Art Alive Gallery x The Quorum Gurgaon captures different elements of existence in a metropolis as the artists explore their experiences in the urban context.
The exhibition started on April 12 and will continue till May 20.
The artists in this exhibition include Apurva Desai, Jignesh Panchal, Dushyant Patel, Vipul Badva, Yash Jani and Chetan Mevada.
Mevada explores facets of modern architecture in the urban-scape with his mixed media works which are meticulously created with the process of cutting, lifting and pasting to create an effect where multiple realities and planes coexist. Furthering Mevada’s exploration with ornamental patterns, Panchal’s aesthetic compositions combine elements of European visuals with the Indian Miniature tradition. His work is an ensemble of decorative and geometrical patterns that navigate different approaches towards the ideas of ‘culture’ as we understand it. The works of Desai, Patel, Badva, and Jani explore similar themes and complement the entire curatorial idea.
“The exhibition is a meticulously curated collection by six contemporary artists that examines the complexities of urban life. Through their unique artistic lens, the artists capture a sense of quietude and the changing landscape of metropolitan life. The show inspires a period of introspective thought amid the hustle of the city,” says curator Sunaina Anand.
