Art Magnum Gallery is set to unveil Speaking Through Colours, a solo exhibition by renowned artist Rekha Hebbar Rao, curated by Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya. Running from March 22 to April 30, the exhibition delves into abstraction, emotion, and nostalgia through Rao’s masterful use of colour, texture, and form.
At the heart of Speaking Through Colours lies Rao’s deep connection to nature and personal memory, translated into expressive compositions that evoke serenity and movement. Her works balance spontaneity with precision, creating an immersive experience for the viewer.
“Her art is an interplay between spontaneity and precision, where colours speak a language of their own, leaving a lasting impact,” says curator Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya. “This exhibition is an exploration of emotion, nostalgia, and the beauty of abstraction.”
Daughter of the legendary K.K. Hebbar, Rao carries forward a rich artistic legacy. Her minimal yet striking palette conveys deep emotions, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries.
“For me, colours are like words—they hold emotions, tell stories, and evoke memories,” says Rekha Hebbar Rao. “Each painting is a personal dialogue between the past and present.”
Art Magnum, a contemporary art gallery committed to promoting India’s artistic heritage, presents Speaking Through Colours as a celebration of the evocative power of abstraction.
