As part of its beautification project, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is conducting a two-day flower festival in Delhi’s Central Park, situated in the city’s heart Connaught Place.

With an assortment of 14,000 different flowering plants, ranging across 35 varieties including Hollyhocks, Petunias, Tulips, Pansy, and Bougainvillea to name a few, residents enjoyed spring’s bloom to the fullest.

The event is taking place as authorities successfully conducted Palaash Flower Festival, Rose Festival and Tulip Festival in the last few weeks.

The beautiful landscape decorated with exotic and native flowers was accompanied by cultural events and performances.

Various floral decorations depicting birds, animals and an ISRO launch vehicle attracted eyeballs at the festival.

The festival — ‘Palaash’ — presented a stunning array of flowers, plants, and floral arrangements.

Many people had gathered to explore different varieties of flowers from indigenous to exotic, beautifully arranged to create a captivating display. The festival saw a plethora of activities, including flower display, entertainment avenues and various competitions.

To make the festival participative, many competitions were organised, which were also open to the public like flowering and foliage plants in a pot, flower arrangement in vases, flower-themed fancy dress for children, floral rangoli competition and painting competition for children, the statement said.
