North Delhi Strikers secured their spot in the Women’s Delhi Premier League final with a seven-wicket victory over East Delhi Riders in a rain-affected final league match on Saturday.
The Riders chose to bat first and set a modest total of 150 for two in their 20 overs. The Strikers easily chased down the revised D/L target, thanks to Upasana Yadav’s impressive 65 off 44 balls.
Upasana and Mansi Sharma made a strong start in their chase, reaching 26/0 by the fourth over. However, Mansi (10 off 10 balls) was dismissed just before rain briefly interrupted play.
Following the rain delay, the target was adjusted to 113 in 14 overs. The Strikers resumed confidently and passed the 50-run mark by the sixth over.

Nazma Sultana was dismissed for six off 10 balls, but Upasana reached her half-century in 33 balls in the ninth over.
With 38 runs needed from 30 balls, Yadav partnered with Ayushi Soni to reduce the required runs to 10 off the final two overs.
Yadav’s notable innings ended when Priya Mishra dismissed her in the 13th over. Soni and Monika then completed the chase with two balls to spare.
Earlier, Priya Punia and Pratika Rawal provided the Riders with a solid start, adding 45 runs during the Powerplay.

Punia reached her fifty in the 17th over, while Rawat was dismissed after scoring 21 off 20 balls.
Punia remained unbeaten with 63 off 59 balls, helping the Riders to their total of 150 for two in 20 overs.
The Strikers will now face South Delhi Superstarz in the final on Sunday.
