Huawei has officially launched its first triple-foldable smartphone, the Mate XT Ultimate Design, globally. After debuting in China in September 2024, the innovative device is now available internationally, with the launch event taking place in Kuala Lumpur. The Mate XT Ultimate stands out as the first commercially available smartphone capable of unfolding twice, transforming from a 6.4-inch display when folded into a 10.2-inch OLED screen when fully expanded.
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate: Price and availability
The Mate XT Ultimate Design is priced at AED 12,999 in the UAE and RM 14,999 in Malaysia (approximately Rs 3,08,000). The phone is available in a single 16GB RAM + 1TB storage configuration. Interested buyers can purchase it through Huawei’s official website, with sales beginning on February 25. The device will be offered in black and red colour options.
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate: Specifications and features
The Mate XT Ultimate boasts a 10.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3,184 x 2,232 pixels, a 16:11 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Despite its complex tri-folding design, the phone maintains a 12.8mm thickness when folded and weighs around 298 grams.
While the global variant’s processor has not been officially confirmed, the Chinese model is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9010 5G chipset. The phone ships with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of onboard storage, running on EMUI 14.2.

In the camera department, the Mate XT Ultimate features a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 5.5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. For selfies, there’s an 8MP front camera.
Powering the device is a 5,600mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port.
