Kia India has officially launched the much-anticipated Kia Syros sub-compact SUV in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Syros are now open at a token amount of Rs 25,000, while deliveries are set to commence in mid-February.

The Syros is available in six variants—HTK, HTK (O), HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, and HTX Plus (O)—and comes with two engine options.

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Kia Syros offers a choice between:

  • 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 120hp and 172Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT.
  • 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine generating 115hp and 250Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic.
  • Both these engines are shared with models like the Hyundai Venue, Creta, Carens, and Kia Sonet, ensuring tried-and-tested performance.

Design and Styling

The Kia Syros sports a fresh design, taking cues from Kia’s global lineup, including the Carnival, EV3, and EV9. The SUV boasts a boxy, upright stance, featuring vertically stacked LED headlamps with three projector units and distinctive drop-down LED DRLs, reminiscent of the new Carnival. The front fascia adopts a near-sealed EV-inspired look, while blacked-out air intakes and silver accents add to its bold styling.

A dual-tone rear bumper with black and silver detailing completes the look.

Feature-Packed Cabin

Inside, the Kia Syros is loaded with premium features, including:

  • Dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the digital instrument cluster
  • Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay with OTA updates
  • 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system
