Indian smartphone brand Lava has expanded its portfolio with the launch of the Lava Shark, a budget-friendly smartphone featuring a 50MP AI camera and a 5000mAh battery.

The Lava Shark is priced at Rs 6,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. It will be available in two colour options — Titanium Gold and Stealth Black. The device will hit Lava’s retail outlets across the country later this week.

The Lava Shark sports a 6.67-inch HD+ punch-hole display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth and vibrant viewing experience. The phone is powered by a UNISOC T606 octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is IP54-rated for resistance against dust and water splashes.
For security, the Lava Shark offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports face unlock for biometric authentication.
Camera and battery
The smartphone features a 50MP AI rear camera with multiple modes, including AI Mode, Portrait, Pro Mode, and HDR, while the front has an 8MP camera for selfies.

The Lava Shark is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging. Lava claims the battery takes around 158 minutes to charge fully and provides 45 hours of talk time or 376 hours of standby. Additionally, it offers up to 550 minutes of video playback time.

Running on Android 14, it comes with a 1-year warranty and free service at home. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac.
