Lava Play Ultra 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 7300 launched: Price and specs

The Lava Play Ultra 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery and sports a 64MP (Sony IMX682 sensor) main camera. Starting at Rs 14,999, the smartphone will be available from August 25

Domestic smartphone maker Lava has announced the launch of its new device, the Play Ultra 5G, a gaming-focused smartphone in the midrange category. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, the phone features a 6.67-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery.

The Lava Play Ultra 5G will be available in two variants: one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at ₹14,999, and another with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at ₹16,499. It will be offered in Arctic Frost and Arctic Slate colour options. The device goes on sale from August 25 exclusively on Amazon India. As part of its introductory offer, Lava is providing a discount of ₹1,000 on purchases made with HDFC, SBI or ICICI Bank cards, along with EMI benefits on eligible transactions.

According to the company, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset combined with MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology delivers smoother gameplay with up to 20 per cent higher frame rates, enhanced graphics and improved power efficiency. The smartphone is paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB through a hybrid SIM slot.

On the camera front, the Play Ultra 5G sports a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor along with a 5MP macro lens, while the front is equipped with a 13MP camera for selfies and video calls. The phone offers several imaging features including Night Mode, AI tools, HDR, Portrait, Panorama and Slow Motion.

The device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W wired fast charging. Lava claims the battery can charge fully in 83 minutes, offering up to 45 hours of talk time, 510 hours of standby and nearly 650 minutes of continuous YouTube playback. Running on Android 15, the smartphone promises a clean, bloatware-free user interface, with the company assuring two years of Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

The Lava Play Ultra 5G is also IP64-certified for dust and splash resistance and features dual stereo speakers for enhanced audio. For connectivity, it supports dual 5G SIM cards, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C and OTG support.
