Samsung has officially announced the launch of two new budget-friendly smartphones, the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G, in India. The devices will be introduced on February 27, boasting what the company describes as “segment-leading” features.

A dedicated product listing on Amazon India confirms that both models will sport a flat-panel design and dual-camera setup. Samsung emphasized that these smartphones are designed for young consumers, offering a blend of style and advanced technology.

While Samsung has yet to reveal the full hardware specifications, the company hinted at a refreshed colour palette and enhanced finish for the devices. The Galaxy M06 5G is particularly noteworthy as it marks an upgrade from its predecessor, the Galaxy M05, which only supported 4G connectivity. The M05 was priced at Rs 7,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and was powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor with a 5,000mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy M16 5G will succeed the Galaxy M15 5G, which launched at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The M15 5G featured the MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset and a 6,000mAh battery. A key highlight of the M15 5G was Samsung’s long-term software support, offering four years of major OS updates and five years of security patches—a rarity in the budget segment.

Consumers will be eager to see whether Samsung extends a similar software support commitment to the new Galaxy M16 5G and M06 5G. More details, including pricing and specifications, are expected soon. Stay tuned for updates.
