China-based smartphone maker Vivo has introduced its latest Y31 series in India, unveiling two models — the standard Y31 and the Y31 Pro. Both devices come equipped with a 6,500mAh battery, support 44W fast charging, and are rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance. They also carry military-grade durability certification (MIL-STD-810H), making them among the more rugged smartphones in their price segment.
The Vivo Y31 is available in two configurations: a 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 14,999, and a 6GB RAM + 128GB model at Rs 16,499. The Y31 Pro is positioned higher, with an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option at Rs 18,999 and an 8GB RAM + 256GB variant at Rs 20,999. Both smartphones are already on sale through the Vivo India online store, Flipkart, and select retail outlets. Launch offers include a bank cashback of Rs 1,500 on select cards and an eight-month zero down payment scheme through partner platforms.
In terms of display, the Y31 features a 6.68-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and TÜV Rheinland certification for reduced blue light. The Pro model offers a slightly larger 6.72-inch full-HD+ LCD display with peak brightness of 1,050 nits. Under the hood, the Y31 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, while the Y31 Pro runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 processor. Both devices ship with Android 15-based FunTouchOS 15 and support AI features such as Google’s Circle to Search and AI Screen Translation.
For imaging, the two smartphones share a 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. The Y31 Pro includes an additional 2MP depth sensor, whereas the standard Y31 is fitted with a QVGA camera as a secondary unit.
The Vivo Y31 and Y31 Pro thus offer large batteries, fast charging, AI-powered features, and enhanced durability in the mid-range segment, with the Pro variant bringing additional performance and display upgrades.
