Comedian Sunil Pal, a close friend of Srivastava, had taken to Twitter to share an update on his health, where he stated that the actor’s condition was critical and his brain had stopped functioning. He urged everyone to pray for Srivastava.

The comedian turned actor, who suffered a heart attack last week while working out in a gym on August 10, has been in a critical condition. He was on life support for the past few days and had started showing signs of recovery on Wednesday.

As per reports, Srivastava’s blood pressure levels had stabilized on Wednesday but dropped at an alarming rate the same night, compelling doctors to seek immediate expert help for which Dr. Padma Srivastava, a top neurologist from Kolkata, had been summoned to examine and assist him.

Srivastava’s family has been given accommodation in the hospital to stay close to the comedian.

Srivastava, one of the most successful stand-up comedians in the country, is a popular name on television. The comedian, who has been in the entertainment business since the late 1980s, shot to fame after participating in the first season of stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” in 2005. He was also seen on Comedy Circus, The Kapil Sharma Show, Shaktimaan and in Bollywood films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Tezaab, Baazigar and more. He was recently seen as a special guest on India’s Laughter Champion.
