One-of-a-kind exhibition ‘Who Am I to Whom I Am’ aims to depict the sound and vibration of the Cosmos’ energy, an exciting manifestation of the spiritual universe within a human being.
Artist Sonika preferred mediums to express her oil and acrylic colours on canvas, charcoal, watercolours on paper, and art installations. Her last seven years of isolation in a studio doing sadhana were dedicated to evolving her art techniques. Four out of seven years were exclusively devoted to research and building up the series ‘Radiance of Cosmic Consciousness’
The artist’s work is not intimidated by the past and has a new story to tell. “While painting, I remove myself from the stage itself and let the Divine play for me to reach the right pitch to play on my canvas,” she said. 0
Sonika has been working as a painter for the last over 15 years and has not adopted any traditional school of thought, intellectualism, or any other isms. Her journey has been blessed with International and National exposure in art exhibitions and art residencies. The preferred medium to express myself is oil and acrylic colors on canvas, charcoal on paper and art installations.
Among a series of awards that she has won over the years include National Stree Shakti Award from Ex-President Pranab Mukherjee on behalf of the Ministry of Women and Child Development in 2013.
