Pracheen Kala Kendra’s Quarterly Baithak will feature Hindustani vocal by Rashmi Chaudhary and a tabla solo by Ilmas Khan at Triveni Kala Sangam on February 21

Pracheen Kala Kendra will present the 31st edition of its Quarterly Baithak under the ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ series on February 21, at Triveni Kala Sangam. The programme will feature performances in Hindustani classical vocal music and tabla.

The evening will open with a vocal recital by Rashmi Chaudhary, who will be accompanied by Pankaj Chaudhary on tabla and Devendra Verma on harmonium. Known for her grounding in the Hindustani classical tradition, Chaudhary’s performances draw on established repertoire while maintaining an emphasis on improvisation and raga development.

The programme will also include a tabla solo recital by Ilmas Khan of the Lucknow gharana, accompanied by Ghanshyam Sisodiya on sarangi. Tabla solo performances traditionally foreground rhythmic composition and improvisation, with accompaniment providing melodic support.
