The Delhi Police has arrested two men in connection with the stabbing of two people in the Jyoti Nagar area, an officer said on Wednesday.
Police said accused, Fardeen and Kashif, are both 19 years old.
According to police, they received information about a stabbing incident at northeast Delhi’s Jyoti Nagar police station around 5.30 pm on June 16. A police team reached the spot and learned that residents had already shifted the injured person to GTB Hospital.
Police said at the hospital, Hussain (18) and Rehman (19) were undergoing treatment for stab injuries. “During the enquiry, Hussain told police that a dispute had been brewing between Rehman and a local, Sajid, over Rehman’s visits to the area to meet a girl known to him,” said the police officer.
Police said on the day of the incident, Hussain, Rehman and their friend Aamir went to Kardampuri to settle the matter. During the discussion, an argument broke out, and Rehman allegedly slapped Sajid. Following this, Sajid and his associates allegedly attacked Hussain and Rehman with knives, police said.
