Delhi: Man found dead near Badarpur bus stand with head injuries

Victim identified as 20-year-old Faridabad resident; police probing possible foul play

A 20-year-old man was found dead with head injuries near the Badarpur bus stand in southeast Delhi in the early hours of Saturday, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Makbul Akram, a resident of Faridabad who originally hails from West Champaran in Bihar.

According to police, a PCR call was received around 4:35 AM at Badarpur Police Station reporting an unconscious man lying by the roadside near the Badarpur border, with blood oozing from the back of his head.

“During routine night patrolling on Mathura Road, the man was spotted unconscious on the roadside. A team rushed to the spot and found him motionless with visible injuries,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari.

Akram was immediately taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead by doctors at around 5:30 AM.

Police officials called in the crime and forensic teams to inspect the location and document evidence. Efforts are underway to retrieve CCTV footage from the vicinity and question local residents to piece together what led to the incident.

“Legal proceedings under appropriate sections have been initiated. Further investigation is ongoing,” the DCP added.
