At 39.4 degrees, Delhi sees hottest day since January

According to IMD data, the maximum temperature in Delhi has been near 40 degrees Celsius for the past four days

Mercury soared to 39.4 degrees Celsius in Delhi on Friday, marking the highest maximum temperature since January, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The national capital saw a peak of 39.1 degrees Celsius on April 11, ranking as the second-highest maximum temperature recorded this season.

IMD data indicates that Delhi’s maximum temperature has hovered around 40 degrees Celsius for the past four days.

Relative humidity fluctuated between 72 percent and 26 percent throughout the day.

The weather forecast predicts generally cloudy skies on Saturday, with the possibility of light rain, dust storms, and thunder showers accompanied by gusty winds in the evening.

Minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to settle at 23 and 38 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The heat index forecast for the next 24 hours indicates temperatures will remain below 40 degrees Celsius.(With inputs from PTI)
