Delhi govt set to launch mobile app for pension information

The Delhi government currently provides pensions to over 4.5 lakh people, with monthly payments of Rs 2,000 for those aged 60 to 69, and Rs 2,500 for those above 70 years

The Social Welfare Department of the Delhi government is set to launch a mobile app that will provide pensioners with complete information about their pensions from the comfort of their homes.
During a recent review meeting, Social Welfare Minister Raaj Kumar Anand instructed officials to accelerate the pension distribution process and establish district-level committees to assist pensioners.
These committees will ensure that doorstep assistance is provided to every pensioner. The mobile app will soon be launched to give pensioners access to all necessary information related to pensions on their smartphones.
The Delhi government currently provides pensions to over 4.5 lakh people, with monthly payments of Rs 2,000 for those aged 60 to 69, and Rs 2,500 for those above 70 years. Additionally, beneficiaries from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and minority communities receive an extra Rs 500 per month.
The Delhi government also provides a monthly pension of Rs 2,500 to 1.5 lakh persons with disabilities. (With inputs from PTI)
