Delhi records minimum temperature of 16.5 deg C, AQI ‘moderate’

The national capital woke up to clear skies on Friday, with the minimum temperature settling at 16.5 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this time of the year, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather forecast for the day indicates continued clear skies, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 32 degrees Celsius.

Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 150 at 9 AM, as per data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). An AQI between 101 and 200 is classified as ‘moderate,’ while lower values indicate better air quality and higher values suggest worsening conditions.

On Thursday, the capital recorded a maximum temperature of 33.5 degrees Celsius—2.2 degrees above the seasonal average. The minimum temperature stood at 15 degrees Celsius, which was 1.5 degrees below normal, the IMD said.
