Delhi Weather: The national capital and its surrounding areas experienced pleasant weather on Sunday, following rainfall that brought respite from the intense heat and humidity earlier in the week.
Cloudy skies and mild temperatures greeted residents on the morning of July 13, a day after moderate showers were recorded on July 12. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), while a slight increase in temperatures is expected over the coming days, light rainfall and thunderstorms are likely to continue. No weather alert has been issued for Delhi as of now.

The IMD has predicted very light to light rain, with chances of lightning. The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C, with consistent cloud cover throughout the day.
Air Quality Remains ‘Satisfactory’ in Delhi
The air quality in Delhi was in the ‘satisfactory’ range on Sunday. As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 85 at 8 am on July 13.
Air quality across other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR) also showed improvement. Delhi’s 24-hour average AQI stood at 105 as of 4 pm on July 12. Gurugram reported an AQI of 147, while Noida and Greater Noida recorded 108 and 172, respectively. In Ghaziabad, the AQI was measured at 107.
According to CPCB classification, an AQI of 0–50 is considered ‘good’, 51–100 ‘satisfactory’, 101–200 ‘moderate’, 201–300 ‘poor’, 301–400 ‘very poor’, and 401–500 ‘severe’.
Rain Likely to Continue Until July 18
The IMD’s extended forecast suggests that Delhi will continue to experience cloudy conditions with light rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning until July 18. A cyclonic circulation over parts of northern Haryana and nearby regions is contributing to ongoing rainfall and cloud development in the city.

Temperatures are likely to range between 33°C and 35°C during the day, with humidity levels expected to stay between 80% and 90%.
Heavy Rain Forecast for Jharkhand
In a separate update, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Jharkhand, warning of heavy rainfall between July 13 and 15. The state is expected to witness intermittent showers across several districts during this period.
