Delhi’s air quality ‘very poor’, minimum temperature at 5.5 degrees Celsius

Delhi on Friday recorded its lowest minimum temperature of the season so far at 4.9 degrees Celsius

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday, dipping three notches below the typical seasonal average, said India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD forecasts clear skies throughout the day with an expected maximum temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius.

At 8:30 am, the relative humidity stood at 100 per cent.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) for the national capital was measured at 346, categorizing it as ‘very poor.’

AQI categories range from ‘good’ (0-50), ‘satisfactory’ (51-100), ‘moderate’ (101-200), ‘poor’ (201-300), ‘very poor’ (301-400), ‘severe’ (401-450), to ‘severe-plus’ (above 450).

On Friday, Delhi registered its lowest minimum temperature of the season at 4.9 degrees Celsius, even lower than Shimla’s minimum temperature of 6.8 degrees Celsius. (With inputs from PTI)
