Fatal confrontation over social media activity
Initial investigations suggest that the accused was unhappy with his daughter’s growing presence on social media platforms, particularly her interest in making short video reels. According to police sources, he believed her online activities were bringing disrepute to the family, which led to the tragic escalation.
Three shots fired, victim succumbs at hospital
Police stated that Radhika’s father fired three consecutive bullets at her. She was immediately taken to a private hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries during treatment. “We were informed by the hospital about the death of a 25-year-old woman due to bullet wounds,” said the Station House Officer of Sector 56 police station. “We then reached the scene and confirmed that the father had opened fire.”
From sporting success to social media ambitions
Radhika had once represented her state and country in several tennis tournaments and had earned accolades for her performances. However, she had to step away from competitive sports two years ago after sustaining an injury. More recently, she had turned her attention to content creation, actively posting reels on Instagram and other platforms.
