CAUGHT UNAWARES: The sudden rainfall in the Capital over the past few days was caused by western disturbances

The weather office has predicted Generally cloudy sky with light rain in the national capital over the next few days.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 36.7 degrees Celsius, which is three notches above the usual seasonal average. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature settled at 27.5 degrees Celsius, just one notch higher than the normal range.

The city experienced light to moderate rainfall on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) indicated that the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) for Thursday stood at 131, classifying it within the “moderate” category.
The AQI scale categorizes values from zero to 500, with ranges of 0-50 considered “good,” 51-100 as “satisfactory,” 101-200 as “moderate,” 201-300 as “poor,” 301-400 as “very poor,” and 401-500 as “severe.”

At 5:30 pm on Thursday, the relative humidity was recorded at 53 percent according to the IMD bulletin. (With inputs from PTI)
