Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Silently the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office experiences the news of its doom as the campus gets flanked by a sprinkling of journalists across the board. Party workers remain to be seen.
An unattended dispenser housing tea that’s too sweet remains only half empty since being filled in the morning. If one decided to walk into the office unknowingly, they would not think that they had walked into a party office on counting day.
A party worker who works as clerk manning the reception room says, “The party workers are where they are supposed to be. We will lead in due time.”
The optimism of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s party remains at an all-time high. Yet, the missing party workers suggest a harsh irony amid the national capital’s even harsher sun.
Kejriwal has been sent back to Tihar to bide his time in judicial custody in the excise policy case. The party had decided to share seats with the Congress in 4:3 ratio. The AAP is trailing in all of its four seats while the Grand Old Party is battling out a close contest in Chandni Chowk through JP Agarwal against BJP’s Praveen Khandelwal.
As of now, it seems like the cause for celebration at the Rouse Avenue office, is a dream away, while a dholak player, tired of waiting, leaves for better opportunities at the Congress office.

“I had come here during MCD elections. It was a massive celebration. Maybe that won’t be the case this time,” he said.
Kejriwal’s party is leading only in four seats in Punjab — Anandpur Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Bathinda and Sangrur. They had denied a seat sharing agreement in the state and contested on all the seats.
