The Delhi Police is calling upon individuals from the Northeastern region, Gorkhas from Darjeeling, and Ladakh residents in Delhi to provide personal information to enhance policing and ensure their safety and security.
In a statement, PN Khrimey, Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Police Unit for North East Region, New Delhi, highlighted the lack of specific data about these communities residing in the capital, as stated in an official release by the Assam government.
The Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER) has urged the people from the mentioned regions to share their information, aiming to improve policing and safeguard their well-being.
To enlist their names and other details, residents can fill out a Google form, with the link being shared through social media, community, and student leaders of the Northeast and Gorkhas of Darjeeling, according to the release.
This measure is taken in response to past incidents of alleged harassment, as the police work towards ensuring a safer environment for all residents.
