Kathak dancer Anupama Jha is coming up with the production ‘Yajnaseni’: Born out of Fire on August 27. It will be an ode to her teacher Shovana Narayan, a known face of Indian Classical dance.
The event will be organised at the Kamani Auditorium.
‘Yajnaseni’ came as an idea to Anupama to create a Kathak production where she can inspire and empower women. As her journey started with her Guru, who became her source of inspiration, the idea took shape.
A Kathak production focusing on women’s empowerment, it promises to be an awe-inspiring work of art that will leave its audience deeply moved.
Based on the life of Draupadi, the dance drama serves as a testament to the strength and perseverance of women who have overcome countless obstacles to realize their aspirations.
This production pays tribute to the unwavering determination and strength of women who have fought against sexism, discrimination, and other oppressive forces to claim their rightful place in society, as portrayed in the iconic Mahabharata War.
“It is a call to action for all women to stand up for themselves and seize control of their lives. The message is clear: women are strong, capable, and deserving of respect and equal opportunities. It is a must-see for anyone who believes in the power of women and the need for equality and justice,” the organiser said.
The story celebrates the unwavering fortitude of women who have overcome numerous obstacles to realize their aspirations.
The event promised to leave the audience moved and inspired.
