Sunayana Malhotra’s latest solo exhibition, “Ananda”, organised by the Visual Art Gallery India Habitat Centre, will be on display from June 27 to June 30, 2024, in New Delhi. Inspired by the beauty of lotuses, the exhibition blends nature, spirituality, and artistry.
According to the organisers, the title, “Ananda”, means ‘bliss’ or ‘happiness’ in Sanskrit, symbolising deep contentment and spiritual fulfilment. Through her paintings, Malhotra explores themes of identity, reality, and dreams, inviting viewers to delve into the layers of the human psyche.
Organisers also said that Malhotra’s works depict the harmonious relationship between humanity and nature. Her paintings, influenced by ancient Indian art, evoke a meditative experience, capturing the dance of cosmic energies.

Born and raised in central Delhi, Malhotra comes from a family of professionals but was always encouraged to pursue her passion for the arts. She studied Hindustani Classical music, singing, and painting, eventually focusing on art by 2005. Since her first exhibition at the Ashoka Hotel Art Lounge, she has showcased her works globally, including in London, Dubai, and the USA.
Drawing inspiration from ancient Indian art, Malhotra’s paintings reflect her deep connection to spirituality and mythological symbolism. Her artistic process, characterised by spontaneity and layered textures, offers viewers a glimpse into the subconscious mind and invites interpretation.
